Councils will need to be careful where they make their cuts as any degradation to public services could eventually lead to more claims cases being taken to court and more people opting to sue councils for negligence of some degree.
Whilst every attempt will undoubtedly be made to ensure that public pathways, roads and spaces are kept to a high standard of maintenance, it is going to be difficult to make the reduced funds stretch as far as they did a few years ago.
Many councils across the country have already had to slash their budgets in order to stay in line with the severe cuts and each council will choose different ways in which to save the money. People who sue councils for whatever reason may well be extra vigilant about where certain cuts are being made and be on the lookout for any cuts in services or maintenance. People often sue councils for negligence or injury and this is where councils will need to extra cautious.
However, people also need to be aware that councils are having to make stark and realistic decisions about cutting money in all areas of their budget and some services are likely to suffer as a result. As long as those services don’t impede on the health and safety of the public, there has to be some kind of medium ground on which to place the cuts.

Thanks for your input and I will use it for my college research that I am doing for this website.
